And the countdown begins

According to the countdown thing on my desktop we only have 15 days until Baby Sophia comes! Thank god!!! I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore. I'm having mixed emotions of course! I am ready to have her but then again I'm not sure how I am gonna handle having a newborn and toddler! And for some reason, I am terrified I am going to go into labor one night. I dont think I ever worried about it with Lyndon. But then again I wasnt planning a c-section with him.
Lyndon promised today that he would help change diapers and feed her too. Let's see how that goes. I'm sure once she comes it will be a completely differnt story. He is continuing to sleep in his bed too. The first couple nights he would try to sneak in our room if he woke up. But unfortuantly for him I am usually awake. And I guess after a few nights of being told to go back to his room, he got the point. The last couple of nights if he woke up he stayed in his bed and usually called for me until I came to see what was going on. Even during a pretty big storm he didnt try to come in our room. I figured he would have, and I probably would have let him get in our bed then. However, he called for me and when I went to his room he said 'Momma did you hear that thunder?' and I said 'Yea baby, go back to sleep'. And he did! He does require like 3 stuffed animals in his bed but hey atleast he is sleeping in his own bed!

21 Days and counting...

until we have baby Sophia Lyn! We are scheduled to have her July 7th at 12. It wasnt our first choice in days. Mainly because it is one of Clem's Uncle's Birthdays and his oldest sister's wedding anniversary. And we pretty much just didnt want to hear for the rest of our lives how we had her on that day because of them...blah blah blah. However, the stupid hospital didnt have any times open on any other days that week I guess. My plan is to make myself go into labor before then though haha. I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should just have her when she is ready to come instead of having a c-section. But it makes it harder for our family that is coming up for the birth to make plans and what not.
So for the first time in I don't even know how long, Lyndon slept the whole night in his big boy bed in his room! Thank God!!! Now I just have to get him to keep doing it. We made the mistake of letting him sleep in our bed when he was not even a year old because he was pretty sick and it was pretty much the only way to get him to sleep. And ever since then we have been trying to get him out! Once we got his big boy bed he would sleep in it for a few hours then come crawling in our bed and we were usually barely awake so we just let him stay in there. Then when we moved here, his daddy had him terrified that there were monsters and vampires in his closet so of course there was NO way he was going to sleep in there. So I moved his bed to our room thinking it might help. It did a little but then it just made it easier for him to get into our bed. And as much as I would try to get him to stay in his bed, someone else would always let him get in our bed. But with the new baby coming (and NO she will never get in our bed, I have learned my lesson!!!!) I thought it was time to move his bed back to his room and get really strict about things with him and his daddy. And last night around midnight when he woke up thinking he would be sneaky and crawl in bed between us I carried his little butt back to his room and told him he was not getting in our bed. And after trying another time, his daddy told him to go back to his room and I guess he got the point cause he curled up and went to sleep and stayed there all night and until about 8 this morning!!!!
Thats all for now. Just wanted to update while I'm baking cookies...malted chocolate chip. Saw the recipe on Pioneeer Woman and thought I'd try them! Hopefully they are as good as they smell!

husband training classes

I am really starting to believe they should offer some kind of class to train your husband much like puppy training classes. But not so much for manners and all of that. More like how to fix things. Maybe I'm wrong for this, I don't know. Maybe I'm still just used to how my dad did things even after being out of his house for years now. Or maybe I was used to doing things on my own because even though I was married, he was always deployed or gone training and now that he is not in a deployable job he is around to do the normal stuff husbands do. It could just be a little of it all. Who knows. However, I would honestly enroll him in these classes if they existed. Or just send him to stay with my dad for a few weeks so he could teach him. Just like he told me that I needed to stay with his mom for a few weeks so I could learn how to cook some of his favorite stuff. After that comment he received very dirty looks and I told him that he could go stay with his mom for a few weeks and learn how to cook whatever he wanted. Yea, sorry darling but your favorite stuff is stuff I do not like. I know how to cook it, I just chose not to most of the time.
But anyway back to the subject. I'll give you an example...mowing the grass. Now, I'm thrilled he wants to go outside and mow the grass every Sunday. However, I'd like him to do it the right. And if I wasn't currently 8 1/2 months pregnant I'd just do it myself. I have no problem mowing the grass. My dad would make us do it a lot...and why not that's what kids are for. He taught us how to do it right too. You would go around the whole yard like 2 times where the grass would blow into the area you were about to cut instead of the neighbors yard or side walk or whatever. Then go the opposite direction so all the grass blew into where you just cut and didn't blow into what you were about to cut. That way you weren't mowing over what you had already cut and you actually cut the grass you were trying to cut. And your blade didn't get clogged up with all that grass. Make sense??? It does to me...maybe I over explained that. Now I'm not saying my dad's way is the only way and its right but it makes a lot of sense. My husband's way, not so much. He cuts it so that the grass blows into the area he is about to mow. Which then causes the grass to not all get cut and the grass builds up on the blade And it makes it harder for him to push it. And its just a mess. And no matter how many times I say something about it he wont listen! So I just let him do it the hard way since he wants to be stubborn.
Another class they should offer is on how to fix appliances. I love my husband but he is just not very handy. He usually doesn't even attempt to be. He would rather pay somebody to fix things than to even try himself. But in reality he doesn't even want to pay somebody to do it either...he just expects it to fix itself. I grew up in a house where my dad would at least attempt to fix things and usually did before he would even consider paying someone else to. Our washer recently broke and I just wanted him to look at it to see if he could possibly figure out what was wrong with it. He took the back off and that was as far as he got. And it has sat there ever since. And when I mentioned buying a new washer and dryer he almost had a heart attack. We can spend money on whatever ridiculous thing he is into this month but on things we actually need, its just not happening! Ugh men!!!
Yea, this kind of turned more into a rant about my husband but oh well...

fishing and happy meals

I thought today I was going to get a relaxing day all to myself. Lyndon was going fishing with his daddy. And I was going to get groceries (yea I know, on Memorial Day weekend! How insane do I have to be) and do some house work that I cant really get done with Lyndon here. Then relax the rest of the day! Atleast that was the plan. So after getting up and making the boys blueberry pancakes, cleaning the kitchen up and getting a quick shower, we headed to Wal-mart to get a few things they needed to go fishing..like snacks and a small ice crest because my girly polka-dotted cooler bag was just not acceptable for someone to have in his boat. Then we had to get shinners from the bait shop and gas for the boat then more gas for the boat because he refuses to just fill the boat up on his way to the lake....and oh my God it's never ending! Finally, they get everything ready and leave!!!! And my relaxation can begin. So I thought! I figured I should make a shopping list and somewhat meal plan for the week so I wouldnt be in the store ALL day. Just as I get that finished, I get a phone call. Apparently Lyndon wanted to come home. He was tired of fishing and wanted mommy. It had only been an hour!!!! Now considering how excited and happy he was that he was going fishing with Daddy, I'm not sure how believable that is. I think someone else was getting aggravated and wanted Lyndon to go home! But whatever, I agreed to come get him. And the whole way home all I heard was 'I wanna go fishing with my daddy'. Ahh 3 year-olds! So I got him a Happy Meal which quieted him for a while and told him daddy would take him again tomorrow. So much for a day to myself....

{Its a bit shaky because we were in the car but its still cute!}

baby bedding

As of today I am 33 weeks and 2 days pregnant! Needless to say, I am ready to have this baby. I had an appointment yesterday and he said everything is looking good and on track. And at my next appointment (June 14th) we arescheduling my C-section!!! I'm due the 13th of July and he wants to do it atleast a week before that so I dont go into labor. So roughly 6 weeks to go!!!! Which means I need to get down to business and start making sure I have everything. I'm currently trying to decide on which baby bedding I want even though we arent getting her crib just yet. I'm gonna wait until I heal some from my C-section first. Its gonna be hard enough getting up and doing stuff anyway with out having to lift her in and out of a crib. Atleast thats the plan for now. But anyway, so far this is the 2 choices I narrowed it down to. I'm sure I'll more I like between now and then though

Oh no...SHARK!

I was looking for Lyndon some new sneaker and sandals since it will hopefully start getting warm here. The sneakers he has are starting to get all scuffed and torn up which is fine for when he is out playing but he needs cute shoes to wear in public of course. I cant have my baby boy running around looking completely crazy! So I was looking on piperlime.com (Yes, I will confess I was looking for shoes for myself too! I want some cute flats!) Then I ran across these! Tell me they are freakin' adorable! A must have for little boys! Unfortunatley, the biggest size they have is a 7. Which is what he is wearing right now. But he wont be in it for much longer and if I'm gonna shell out 30 bucks for a pair of shoes I'd like him to be able to wear them for longer than a few months. I think I am going to order them for Tori's little boy Connor. They are too cute for me not to order!

I finally gave in...

and ordered some stinkin' maternity pants. And they just got here!!! I figured it was time since I can no longer wear most of my jeans with out the much loved Belly Band. And I of course had just gotten rid of any bigger clothes I had right before I found out I was pregnant. I managed to avoid maternity pants during my last pregnancy until a month before I had Lyndon. But then again I wore mostly sweatpants/drawstring stuff. But anyway, I found some cute capris on Old Navy's website.

And since it is still cold here and will be for God know how long I ordered some jeans too. I have to roll the capris an extra time since I'm freakishly short but they fit really good and I LOVE them!

On a side note, Sophie has been kicking NON-STOP! This kid will not stop...she is way too hyper! So hopefully other people will get to feel her kick because with the exception of Erika getting to feel Lyndon kick once, I dont think anyone else got to. He was stubborn and refused to kick if anyone put their hand on my belly.

Things my toddler says..

Lyndon has said the most random off the wall things since he started talking. However, lately they are getting even more random and nuts! I also have a feeling he is going to be that brother that lies about anything to get his little sister in trouble, claiming she hit him when she wasnt even in the same room as him. Yea, he already tries it with his daddy. He tells me his daddy spanked him this morning, knowing he hadnt even seen his daddy yet and was still asleep when his daddy left for work. So here is a list of a few things he has said lately:

-I love you in the world (I'm not quite sure where he got this from but he tells me this daily! I assume he means he loves me more than anything in the world)

-There was a zombie in my room this morning. That monster is gonna get it (he actually told me this one this morning..usually it's vampires or monsters)

-You smell like juice (This is apparently an insult! The first time he told me this he was mad and said it with a tone like I was an alcohlic and had been out drinking all night)

- My Sophie is hurting my belly (He has already begun blaming his problems on his sister...this usually means his tummy hurts. I guess he thinks there is a Sophie in there causing the problem)

-Mawmaw got me a jelly fish (Yea, your guess is as good as mine)

There are many many more so I'll add to this later. But for now I have to go see what he and the dog have gotten into!

It's a Girl!!!!

We found today that we are having a little girl! I am beyond excited even though I just knew it would be a girl this time! While they were doing the ultrasound Lyndon kept telling his daddy that baby looks creepy. Of course his response was 'Yea it does huh'. Thanks for encouraging him!!!! They are such boys. And although last time we were told it was a girl only to find out a few months later that it was a boy, this doctor seemed pretty sure. YAY! I sent out a mass text message as soon as we started leaving the doctors office of course to inform anyone I could. Then went to the store to buy her some girly clothes! Its been killing me not knowing because I have been wanting to buy baby stuff since I found out I was pregnant. Well since I got over the shock that I was pregnant again. Lyndon is coming around to the idea of it now too. Haha. After they were done with the ultrasound they gave us some of the pictures to keep of course and Lyndon kept pointing to them saying 'That's my baby'. It was too cute. He and his daddy then started fighting over whose baby it was. I think they just like arguing and getting each other worked up. But that is it for now. Just wanted to update this a little.

The Shrinking Pants

I found this pretty hilarious and felt the need to share. My darling husband has been a constant weight pretty much the entire time I have known him. So over the past few months he has gradually been gaining a little weight. Which isn't a big deal to me, I love him regardless. However, the Marine Corps does have so pretty strict rules about their weight and if they go over their max weight they start monitoring them pretty hard and it is just a big ordeal. Not to mention it looks really bad in his records. Well ever since he started gaining weight, he has started weighing himself like a girl on a diet. I swear he weighs himself at least 3 times a days. Its crazy but funny. I have been suggesting that we start working out together. Which he always finds an excuse not to.
Monday morning I got up with him while he got ready for work. With the exception of like 2 days this was the first day he has really had to go to work since Christmas eve. As he was putting on his uniform pants he began cussing and carrying on. Not know what was actually going on, I came into the living room to see that he couldn't button his pants! He then insisted that his pants had shrunk! At that point, it took everything I had not to start laughing. Determined it was because of those pants, he made me go get another pair out of the closet. Yea, turned out those pants didn't fit him either. Which I found ever more hilarious. He just kept getting even more mad and saying his pants must have shrunk. I had to hide my face several times so he wouldn't see how funny I thought this was. All I could think was 'Yea it must be the pants, not the lbs you gained.' Now I will give him some credit, his uniforms are tailored to fit him just right and any loss or gain in weight changes the fit. But just the fact that he was in such denial made this hilarious to me. I know, I am hateful for that.
